PE investors split over vending company

Italian buyout firm Investitori Associati has surrendered its investment in a vending machine company following its decision not to join its co-investor in injecting more equity into a restructuring project.

Cognetas has taken control of the Italian company after investing an additional €65m ($94m) but Investitori was unwilling to take part in the extra investment and so gave up its stake. Both firms previously held stakes of around 40%, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
