Pearson sale tops trio of bank deals

Citigroup's sale of £236m (€347m) worth of shares in Pearson, the UK publisher, was the third deal the bank led this week, raising a combined total of €653m ($802m).

On Thursday, Citigroup was sole bookrunner of the sale of a 4.9% stake in Pearson for Telefónica. The Spanish telecoms company sold 38.9 million Pearson shares as part of its strategy of divesting its media assets.
