Philadelphia Stock Exchange votes to demutualise

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange, the fourth largest US options exchange, has voted to demutualise to become a for-profit entity.

Meyer Frucher, chairman and chief executive of the exchange, received authorisation for the board of governors to prepare a plan to convert the member-owned exchange into a for-profit, shareholder entity.
