Private banks lose 8% of assets in 2002

The world's top private banks suffered an 8% average decline in assets under management in 2002, according to research from Scorpio Partnership, a private banking consultancy and think-tank.

At the end of last year the 10 largest private banks had total assets of $3 trillion (€2.8 trillion), down from $3.24 trillion at year-end 2001.
