Private equity and distressed debt most popular strategies among wealthy investors – survey

Three-fifths of high net worth investors said they are ready to support small and medium-sized British businesses

Wealthy private investors increasingly want to put their money into private equity over the next 12 months, a new survey by Connection Capital has found.

Three-fifths of high net worth investors — individuals with at least $1m of investable assets — said they are ready to support small and medium-sized British businesses in the wake of Covid-19 and are most attracted to private equity and distressed debt. A third said they are most likely to invest in private debt.
