Private equity-backed Jones Bootmaker close to administration

Jones Bootmaker, the 160-year-old shoe retailer owned by the private equity firm Alteri Investors, is fighting to avoid administration, FN's sister publication Private Equity News reports.

The company filed a notice of intent to appoint administrators on Friday, according to person familiar with the matter. Taking such action helps businesses halt existing or pending creditor action for a period of up to 10 days.
