Sale of healthcare company returns half of firm's original investment

HgCapital has made a loss on its sale of Finnish healthcare company Mainio Vire, as the firm continues its retreat from the care sector.

The London-based private equity firm sold the company to Mehiläinen, a Finland-based private provider of social and healthcare services, for half its original investment, according to a JP Morgan briefing note.
