Private equity trade body backs new disclosure guidelines

'Questions have been raised about the value and sustainability of private equity investment in the UK', BVCA boss says

A fresh effort to boost private equity’s under-fire reputation has been made amid criticisms about a lack of disclosure from the buyout industry.

Sixteen years on from the creation of the Walker Guidelines – a voluntary code of conduct around transparency that private equity firms signed up to during the financial crisis – the UK’s trade body is making a renewed push to counter concerns about the industry’s openness.
