Stephen Roach, the chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia, has spoken with Financial News about the reorientation of the global economy from west to east – a path that he says is riddled with obstacles.

Formerly Morgan Stanley's chief economist for more than two decades, Roach has consolidated a series of his essays from the last three years into a new book called 'The Next Asia: Opportunities and Challenges for a New Globalization'.
