A fund backed by Qatari investors is set to acquire Printemps, the French department store chain.

A fund backed by Qatari investors is set to acquire Printemps, the French department store chain, the latest in a string of high-profile purchases by investors from the gas-rich Gulf state.

Terms weren't disclosed. According to French press reports, the transaction is worth around €1.6bn ($2.08bn), including €550m of debt.
