RBS posts third consecutive quarterly profit

RBS posted a profit during the third quarter of the year, turning around a loss made by the same stage of 2016.

The bank, still majority-owned by the UK government following a bailout during the financial crisis, brought in revenues of £3.2bn and made an attributable profit of £392m in the three months to September 30, it said in its latest results statement.
