New Year’s resolutions for the financial industry

Whatever comes out of the gates in 2012, City firms stand a better chance if they work together

I don’t know about you but I have an abysmal track record of sticking to my New Year’s resolutions. A couple of years ago I hit on what I thought was a cunning wheeze. I resolved to smoke more, drink more, eat lots of fatty food and not exercise.

Sure enough, after a few (admittedly very enjoyable) weeks, I broke those resolutions too. I stopped smoking, started to drink mineral water at parties, skipped pudding and packed my gym bag with joy in my heart.
