Robinhood co-founder Vladimir Tenev has defended the firm's decision to halt the trading activity that triggered a dramatic spike in the share price of video game retailer GameStop.

The firm is resuming trading today on the investing app after shutting it down on 28 January when a wave of retail investors sent GameStop's shares soaring.
