Ross Goobey recommends property as foil to funds' liabilities

Alastair Ross Goobey, former chief executive of Hermes Pensions Management, has recommended that pension funds would do well to increase their weightings in property in order to better match their growing liabilities.

In the latest edition of Morgan Stanley Global Pensions' quarterly report, Goobey said that accounting standard FRS17 has highlighted the volatility of assets being held to meet the pensions liability.
