Rothesay Life lands biggest ever UK pension scheme buyout

The deal will see £4.7bn in assets transferred to Rothesay Life

The largest ever full pension scheme buyout in UK history has been announced, following a busy year of deals for the booming pensions sector.

Telent, a technology company, and its pension trustees said in a statement published on September 26 that they had agreed a buyout for the GEC pension fund with Rothesay Life, the UK insurance group.
