Rothschild swaps sides with Equant role

Rothschild, adviser to France Télécom on its acquisition of 54% of Dutch telecoms firm Equant in 2000, has switched sides. The bank will now advise Equant as France Télécom buys the remaining 46% stake.

France Télécom, which is advised by Goldman Sachs, will buy the stake for €564m ($738m) and will also provide a €250m loan to Equant as part of the deal.
