Russell Investments has appointed a new head of its fiduciary management business in the UK and Ireland – a boost to the group's senior ranks following a string of high-profile departures in late summer.

Sarah Leslie has been promoted to take on some of the responsibilities previously held by Shamindra Perera, a managing director of institutional investment services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, who left Russell in September to join a fintech company.
