Pizza Hut backer Rutland buys Bernard Matthews

The turnaround investor has bought a majority stake in the poultry producer

UK turnaround investor Rutland Partners has completed an investment in East Anglia-based turkey producer Bernard Matthews, buying a controlling stake for approximately £25 million to £30 million, according to one person familiar with the situation.

Rutland, which last year bought the UK business of Pizza Hut for around £20 million, announced the Bernard Matthews deal yesterday. Rutland completed the investment on August 30, the firm said.
