S&P's and Mark-It crack a credit derivatives code

Rating agency Standard & Poor's has joined forces with Mark-It Partners, the London-based pricing service, for credit derivatives and cash credit instruments, to develop the first credit derivative numbering system.

The initiative is considered important for the fast-growing credit derivatives market, because the new codes will provide a quick and unambiguous method of identifying entities and obligations in credit default swap trade confirmations.
