Schoenfeld builds in Europe with Goldman hire

P Schoenfeld Asset Management, a US hedge fund with $925m (€700m) under management, has hired Daniel Goldwater from Goldman Sachs to become a managing director and head of Europe.

He will manage Schoenfeld's London office, where the firm has a distressed debt operation focusing on Europe. He will assume responsibility for expanding in Europe and Asia the event-driven strategy the firm follows globally.
