Schroders takes majority stake in Swiss impact investor

BlueOrchard claims to have been the world’s first commercial manager of micro-finance debt investments

Schroders, the UK-listed asset manager, has acquired a majority stake in BlueOrchard, the impact-investment specialist.

The investment in Switzerland-headquartered BlueOrchard, which has $3.5bn in assets and is focused on credit, private equity and sustainable infrastructure, helps Schroders expand in a strand of the environmental, social and governance approach that has become a focus for asset managers.
