SEC rejects calls for stricter multi-manager fund rules

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has rejected a request to tighten the rules governing multi-manager funds despite claims of unfair advantage being taken.

The SEC confirmed it had turned down a request made by Fund Democracy, a firm that promotes shareholders' issues, for a hearing on a rule that currently allows multi-manager to switch sub-advisers without first obtaining approval of shareholders.
