SEC shelves plans for lawyers to blow whistle on fraud

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has stalled plans to demand that lawyers blow the whistle on corporate clients they believe are committing securities fraud.

Law firms are set to escape proposals made last year that they should alert the SEC when a corporate client commits securities fraud, following an intense lobbying effort.
