Serious Fraud Office to investigate ETFs

The Serious Fraud Office has begun a fact-finding mission into the ETF industry to prepare itself against future fraud cases

The UK Serious Fraud Office has begun a fact-finding mission into the exchange traded fund industry in order to prepare itself for potential fraud cases evolving the burgeoning investment product.

A spokesman from the SFO said: "We are looking at the potential threats from ETFs. We are ultimately trying to prevent these vehicles being used for fraudulent activities."
