Shinsei capitalises on Japanese hedge fund appetite

Shinsei, the Japanese bank, has attracted $20m (€18m) in new investment for its fund of hedge funds over the past three weeks despite many foreign investors pulling their money out of Japan.

Market sources say Japanese investors are showing greater appetite for investing in their own markets and are looking more seriously at hedge funds.
