Siemens snares €2.7bn BBC technology deal

The British Broadcasting Corporation has sold an IT subsidiary and outsourced its technology infrastructure to Siemens, the German industrial group, in a deal worth €2.7bn ($3.3bn). About 1,400 BBC employees will move as part of the agreement.

The BBC's advisers included accountants Ernst & Young and Field Fisher Waterhouse, the London-based law firm.
