Singapore's GIC heads into emerging markets

The private equity arm of the Singapore Government has acquired a minority stake in a US-energy company focused on emerging markets as the sovereign wealth fund looks to invest in developing nations.

GIC Special Investments has made an equity investment of $400m (€258.5m) in AEI for an 11% stake. A GIC representative is set to be appointed to AEI’s board of directors.
