SIT stands to lose £120m over index tracker fund

The decision by the board of the Scottish Investment Trust (SIT) not to introduce an index tracker fund could cost the trust up to £120m (€188m), according to one of the shareholders which called for a restructuring.

Last week, the £1.1bn Scottish Investment Trust rejected a proposal from Hermes Investment Management and Axa Investment Management to start offering an index fund in a move to raise its share price.
