SSSB lures Thompson back to investment banking

Maurice Thompson, the former head of investment banking at Deutsche Bank, has returned to the investment banking business in a senior role at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney after a three-year absence.

Thompson has joined as vice-chairman of investment banking at SSSB, where he will have a broad roving brief focusing on senior client relationships, particularly in the German market. He will report into Michael Klein and Panfilo Tarantelli, the co-heads of European investment banking. Klein is also co-head of the global business.
