Stewart Ivory bidder tipped

Colonial Mutual is hotly tipped as the bidder for the troubled Scottish-based Stewart Ivory with a likely price of £60m (E100m) to £65m.

The proprietors of Ivory, including the directors, investment chief John Thomson and Saints investment trust, are looking for a buyer. It is understood that the fund manager has called in US investment bank DLJ to look at the possibility.
