Suffolk fund sacks Scottish Widows

Suffolk County Council has dropped Scottish Widows Investment Partners (SWIP) as sole manager of its £700m pension fund in favour of four new fund managers.

The decision by the trustees to diversify the investments follows the completion of an asset liability review and a tendering exercise for new investment managers. Scottish Widows Investment Management, which recently merged with Hill Samuel Asset Management to form SWIP, was invited to pitch for the mandates.
