The chief executive of Takeaway.com, a Dutch food delivery company, has shot down shareholder proposals for a merger with its London rival Just Eat.

It comes after Cat Rock Capital, a US activist investor and Just Eat shareholder, demanded the London-listed food delivery company merge with a rival, citing Takeaway.com — in which it owns a 4.9% stake — as a potential target.
