The traditional route for linking startups to investors has become so unfashionable that many no longer want to be associated with the 'accelerator' label

Time for a reboot: fintech accelerators ‘are dead’

Ben Brabyn, the head of Canary Wharf-based fintech office space Level39, has been handing out business cards with the name “Level39 Technology Accelerator” for over a year now. But since taking the helm he has decided he wants to remove the term accelerator from the company’s brand.

“Accelerators are dead”, he said. “[They] should die”.
