Top bosses join Business Growth Fund

The chief executives of some of Britain's best-known companies will lend their expertise to the government's new Business Growth Fund as non-executive board members. They are: Audrey Baxter, the chief executive officer of Baxters Food Group; Stephen Murphy, group CEO of Richard Branson's Virgin group of companies; Neil Johnson, chairman of Umeco, Hornby, and Motability Finance; and John Burgess, co-founder and managing partner of BC Partners and non-executive director of C&C Group. The Business Growth Fund launched in May with the backing of the UK's leading banks. It will invest between £2m and £10m in return for an equity stake in established businesses.
