Top financial institutions lack back-up plans

Citigroup wins top Financial News award

More than one-third of Europe's leading financial institutions have no contingency plans in place to deal with a catastrophe, according to a poll of guests attending the Financial News awards for IT excellence in investment banking on Wednesday.

Of those polled, 39% said they had fully rehearsed resilience and contingency plans, while 35% admitted they had "no plans to speak of". The rest said they had unrehearsed or minimal plans in place.
