Tougher UK audit watchdog embarks on hiring spree

The regulator says there are 'significant opportunities' for new recruits to play a 'key role' on 'high-profile issues'

The UK’s auditing watchdog has embarked on a recruitment drive ahead of its transformation into a new regulator with stronger powers to hold the companies it oversees to account.

The Financial Reporting Council will create 80 positions “in the 2019-2020 financial year alone”, as it prepares to become the Audit, Reporting and Governance Authority.
