TPG flies €500m Alitalia cash plan

TPG, the US private equity group, will reportedly inject as much as €500m ($676m) in Alitalia rather than buying the embattled Italian airline outright.

Finanza & Mercati, an Italian newswire, reports TPG has proposed investing €400m to €500m in Alitalia through a capital increase rather than buying the entire airline if its bid is accepted.
