Trading volumes in equities and derivatives reached record levels last month after a surge in volatility and heavy trading by investors and hedge funds concerned about a substantial market correction.
The big three European stock exchanges â Deutsche Börse, Euronext and the London Stock Exchange â enjoyed their busiest month on record in terms of the number of trades and value of trading, as did the New York Stock Exchange.
