Transport for London seals £1.8bn bailout deal

The deal follows a first support package announced in June this year

London’s transportation network has secured a £1.8bn bailout from the government to make up for the Covid-19 losses and ensure that the Tube and bus services can continue running despite the low usage with most people working from home.

The announcement follows the news of a second nationwide lockdown, starting on 5 November and ending on 2 December, which will deal another blow to the capital’s struggling public transport system.
