UAM hires new chief executive

United Asset Management (UAM) has appointed James F Orr as president and chief executive officer to succeed Norton Reamer, who will step down when he turns 65 in September.

Orr joins from UnumProvident Corporation, a global provider of group disability and insurance with more than $40bn in assets under management, where he was chairman and chief executive officer.
