UBS and Merrill still top of the rich list

The private banking industry, which caters for the ultra-rich, saw assets grow by almost 15% to $4.6 trillion (€3.8 trillion) in 2003, a return to levels not seen for at least five years.

UBS Group and Merrill Lynch continue to be the world's two largest private banks with over 40% of the total assets.
