UBS names BAML veteran as head of consumer

The hire comes as the Swiss bank continues its efforts to recast itself as an advisory-led business under investment banking chief executive Andrea Orcel

UBS has hired Philippe Drouin, a Bank of America Merrill Lynch veteran, to a newly created role as head of consumer in Europe.

Drouin will join the bank in mid-September, according to an internal memo sent to UBS staff this morning and seen by Financial News. A spokeswoman for UBS confirmed the contents of the memo.
