UBS has hired Ian Pereira, one of Morgan Stanley's most senior M&A bankers on the US west coast, to beef up its technology investment banking team.

Pereira, a 17-year Morgan Stanley veteran, is to co-head UBS's global technology M&A team alongside Seth Ferguson, who has worked in UBS's tech M&A department since joining in 2001. These are new positions at the Swiss bank and both managing directors will be based in San Francisco.
