The number and the value of buyout deals between £10m and £100m rose in the second quarter, despite overall buyout levels falling to a three-year low, new research shows.

According to a quarterly analysis of lower mid-market deals, the number deals in the £10 million to £100 million bracket rose to 25 in the second quarter, up from 20 in the first quarter. The value of deals also rose 3% from £710 million to £728 million. The research was conducted by UK mid-market private equity firm Lyceum Capital and Cass Business School,
