UK pension fund 'loses confidence' in managers

The £1.6bn (€2.5bn) pension fund of UK local authority Bath and North East Somerset Council has put its three main investment managers under review because of poor performance.

Merrill Lynch Investment Managers could lose an active balanced mandate worth about £560m. Avon pension fund's two passive managers, Barclays Global Investors and Gartmore Investment Management, which run about £560m each, are also under scrutiny.
