UK regulator cracks down on misleading financial adverts

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has published a new guide to its rules on financial advertising and encouraged consumers to report any examples that they believe breach these rules.

The guide, which has been published on the FSA's website, sets out the watchdog's role in regulating financial advertising an marketing material, offers consumers tips on how to use financial adverts to shop around, and warns that advertisers may use small print to present their products in the best light.
