UK signs mutual fund deal with Hong Kong

FCA says deal illustrates the benefits of 'equivalent' regulation — a key battleground for the City in Brexit talks

Fund managers in the UK and Hong Kong will be able to sell mutual funds in each others’ markets via a “streamlined” approval process, after financial regulators signed off on a joint recognition deal.

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority and Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission announced the deal in a statement on October 8.
