UK venture capital deals drop as investors chase bigger bets

New data points to quickening consolidation in the European start-up sector, with investors showing a preference for later-stage deals

Yet the amount of money invested in UK businesses in the first quarter stayed flat at £1.19bn, highlighting a preference among venture investors for later-stage deals.
