UK’s entrepreneurs prepare Brexit parachutes

More than a third of UK tech firms are eyeing the continent following the vote to leave the EU

More than a third of technology start-ups in the UK are planning to move operations out of the country as a result of the Brexit vote.

The specialist lender Silicon Valley Bank canvassed 136 start-up businesses in the UK as part of its annual global survey of nearly 1,000 entrepreneurial firms across technology and lifesciences. Around 16% of the UK respondents worked in fintech, or financial technology.
