US venture capital fundraising sinks to 1995 levels

Fundraising by US venture capital firms has reached a seven-year low, according to a new industry report.

Venture capital firms in the US raised just $1.2bn (€1.2bn) in the third quarter of this year, said VentureOne, the US venture capital data company. It is the lowest quarterly total since the second quarter of 1995 and a fraction of the amount of money the industry was raising during the technology boom.
